PLEASE SUPPORT OUR CAUSE BY SIGNING OUR PETITION WHICH SAYS THAT EARTHLINK NETWORK NEEDS TO GET RID OF IT'S FAIR USE ACCESS POLICY FOR IT'S SATELLITE CUSTOMERS BY CLICKING HEREWelcome To MPlayer Classic Karaoke!MAINWHAT IS MPLAYER KARAOKE?Put simply, MPlayer used to be a gaming network where people could join and play their games they purchased in a public community with or against othe rplayers with the help of special downloadable patches to make their games compatible with the MPlayer network. These games included anything from Doom, the old Duke Nukem, to some of the latest games available now, including Casino games, and even old board games. Another fun feature MPlayer used to have was Voice Chat rooms. Where people who wanted to start a game and allow other players to join, while in these game rooms, players could chat with eachother with the help of MPlayers built in voice chat capabilities. Which we think was the BEST feature available back then. This was back when voice chat software was a thing of the future and was available without having to scrape the bottom of the barrel for enough money to pay for that type of service. And MPlayer Karaoke is OUR way of bringing back the old KARAOKE voice chat rooms people used to create for their own entertainment. In these chat rooms, players would get together, somebody would be chosen to be the moderator, and pass the hammer to one player at a time who wanted to sing a song for everyone, providing their own music in the background, reading from their own lyrics, to hear, and everyone else was silenced. Then the hammer was passed on to the next person and so forth and so on and so on. Sadly, MPlayer was bought out by GameSpy Arcade, and when they took over, they screwed everything up. And for a while, while GameSpy Arcade was getting their shit together transfering everything from MPlayer over to their network, a LOT of the capabilities of MPlayer were either disabled for good, or put on a LONG hold. This included the Voice Chat rooms. Well we created MPlayer Karaoke on SkypCasts to aleviate the pain of this going away, and so far, we've had a pretty good outcome. We're still working out the bugs in the system, and granted this website was the only thing we've come up with in the way of moderation and control, but we're hoping that people who enjoy singing will come together with us and help us create a nice community for people to get together and sing and just enjoy themselves. We hope you all enjoy the SkypeCast as much as we have enjoyed creating it. And we hope this turns out to be a phenominal idea. WFTP Radio Network Staff |
